Future of Food
In 2003, it was stated that “the banana could be defunct within a decade”, implying that by now the banana could have either vanished from supermarkets or look significantly different. We found this research pretty mad and went onto discover that bananas today are in fact mutant clones and sterile as a result of human intervention. So we decided their memory needed to be preserved and designed this banana bowl as a modern fossil to entomb the nation’s fruit bowl favourite.
